About us
The Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising is one of Europe's leading special orthopaedic clinics and enjoys an outstanding world-wide reputation.
At the Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising, state-of-the-art therapy methods are applied in all orthopaedic areas. Many of our department heads are professors and lecturers at the Medical University of Vienna. As an “academic teaching hospital”, we also serve as an education centre for medical students.
Our hospital hosts 280 beds and employs 150 physicians, including about 100 consulting orthopaedists and orthopaedic surgeons. We perform approximately 10.000 surgical procedures per year and care for around 17.000 inpatients, as well as, 37.000 outpatients.
In total, around 780employees work at our hospital.

We are a state-of-the-art hospital (the most recent building was inaugurated in 2008) that can, on the other hand, refer to a long tradition. The Orthopaedic Hospital Vienna-Speising was founded in 1915 by the then Dean of the Department of Orthopaedics, Prof. Hans Spitzy.

End of 2010, the Orthopaedic Hospital Speising was honoured according to the internationally recognized quality management system „pcc including KTQ“. Security for our patients and Christian values have priority for this hallmark of excellence. (The certificate will be awarded in January 2011).
